Fear of Misery

Fear of Misery – my first complete novel manuscript is physically in the world after a couple of months of (relatively) consistent typing. It’s a story that I started for my first NaNoWriMo in 2012 and after 50,000 words of a surprisingly clean first draft, had won the month’s writing challenge. However, I was left with a group of characters in my head whose half-finished stories carried on to their conclusions and needed to be exorcised.

The full first 130,000-word draft is done, but the beta-reading and editing are going to take a while since I am totally new to the publishing trajectory and am busy learning the ropes and building a website all at the same time. Also, let’s face it, I’ll be throwing myself wholeheartedly into this year’s NaNoWriMo which starts in just a few days and it takes all my energy.

No rest for the wicked…
